Ingredients

  • 3-4 large Ripe bananas
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl using a fork or potato masher.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs to the butter mixture and mix well. Then, stir in the mashed bananas.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  • If desired, fold in chopped nuts.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 60-70 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, the bread is done.
  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • Add optional ingredients like chocolate chips or cinnamon to personalize the recipe.
