Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add the softened butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk them together until fully combined and slightly creamy.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt, whisking until evenly mixed.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter to avoid a dense loaf.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 55-65 minutes, checking for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the bread. If it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, the bread is ready.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
