- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or another preferred oil like coconut or olive oil)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup walnuts, pecans, or almonds (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for added flavor)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mash the bananas using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
If desired, fold in any optional add-ins such as nuts or cinnamon.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
