Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or another preferred oil like coconut or olive oil)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, pecans, or almonds (chopped)

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for added flavor)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • If desired, fold in any optional add-ins such as nuts or cinnamon.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
